Playhouse Renovation

Happy Monday friends!

Here is our Playhouse renovation! It has been done for a few weeks now but with summer here its taken me a bit to get it up on the blog! We moved here about two years ago and this little play house stuck out when we walked through! I loved the thought of redoing it in bright colors for my babes and have a fun little place where they can let their imagination run free!

The Playhouse Renovation

First Things First

The first thing we did to renovate the playhouse was take down the siding and re drill it on. Since we live in Utah the play house gets hit by all the elements all year long and it was falling apart from the all the snow and wind this last winter. We then added 2×4’s in between the railing to make it safer for our kids. Josh made a new later since he fell through the last one, poor thing! Thanks to my handy man it all came together pretty fast!

The Next Step

Next we painted all the blue! It actually took way longer than I expected and took up more paint too! We painted all the white, which took even longer than the blue, ha! We painted the whole inside of the playhouse white and I love how it turned out! After the white dried we taped for the yellow flooring and spray painted the slide yellow since the one I had ordered wasn’t going to be here for two weeks and we couldn’t wait that long! So far the yellow spray painted slide has been fine but I think we will probably want a new one still so that it has the slippery plastic feel to it.

New Swings

I ordered new swings to match the house and since we had only had one bucket swing prior and everyone would fight over it, I bought two pink ones (Posy’s request & mine too haha). Here are the links to the swings if you want to get them! They’re pretty cheap and they are made very well! PINK SWING & YELLOW SWING. (Jacks yellow swing is super comfy and great for kids or adults)

We worked on this playhouse for a week straight! My sweet husband took two days off work to get it done faster for the kids. It isn’t as easy as it used to be to do projects, now we have three littles trying to get into the paint, wanting treats and waiting patiently to slide down the stinking slide! The fun thing about this project was that we let Jack and Posy help with everything! They loved painting it and feeling apart of building something cool!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope this give you inspo to either make your own house, or repaint an old one! I will be doing an additional post when we have all the furniture in it so keep a look out!

Before & After

I painted the from yellow part early to see how it would look, also because I get sick of the same color while I’m painting. Anyone else like that?
